Public Relations & Digital Marketing Manager

Based in Washington, D.C., Know Public Relations provides strategic media relations, digital marketing, social media and consulting services to culinary brands and personalities. Media relations, message development and training, e-mail marketing and social media strategy are some of the services we deliver to maximize awareness of restaurant openings, product launches, cookbook publications, and related events.

Our clients include James Beard Award nominees, Top Chef finalists, culinary craftsman, cookbook authors and award-winning restaurants and chefs, as recognized by Bon Appétit, Esquire, Food & Wine and Wine Enthusiast.

Know PR is seeking a public relations and digital marketing manager to join the team full-time in Washington, D.C.

Roles and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting press materials, website copy and digital marketing materials

  • Pitching story ideas and interacting with media

  • Building and maintaining media lists

  • Preparing clients for and staffing media interviews, as needed

  • Media monitoring and producing monthly reports

  • Managing social media platforms

  • Managing e-mail marketing campaigns

  • Attending client meetings and events; hosting media for lunch and dinner

  • Preparing meeting agendas and action item recaps to manage client needs


  • Bachelor of Arts or Science

  • Three to five years of experience in media relations, digital marketing or communications; experience with hospitality brand is a plus, but not required

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and e-mail marketing for professional use

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability and desire to work independently, sometimes from home, and with a flexible schedule that may include some evenings and weekends to accommodate events 

This is a full-time contractor position, which will require use of a personal laptop.
